A thunderous night in Mansfield as Styx and Foreigner continued the Renegades and Jukebox Heroes tour at The Xfinity Center.

Following an ominous storm, the Xfinity Center’s amphitheater was packed from side to side with lifelong fans of the absolute rock legends Styx and the support of Foreigner and John Waite for the Renegades and Jukebox Heroes tour. Fortunately, the skies cleared in time for Legendary British rocker, John Waite to take the stage. Waite brought the electric energy of the night with his #1 hits “Missing You” and “When I See You Smile”. He continued with songs from his 40 year catalog of hits from his career as a solo artist, with The Babys and Bad English.

Following Waite, continuing their two year farewell tour, Foreigner is back touring with Styx after their very successful 2014 tour together “Soundtrack of Summer”. “Double Vision” began as each band member raced to the stage and the crowd erupted to their feet to welcome Foreigner to Mansfield. Lead singer, Kelly Hansen commanded the stage as he brought the fans back to 1984 with the encore of “I Want to Know What Love Is” which further electrified the energy of the night as the entire crowd came together in harmony to sing the chorus.

After thinking the energy had come to its peak, Styx emerged to the crowd absolutely erupting for what could have been heard for miles to their opening song “The Grand Illusion”. Lawrence Gowan, Styx’s keyboard player, went from behind his beautiful Styx branded keyboard to lead vocalist directing the crowd as he danced across the entire stage. Styx continued the extraordinary night with “Come Sail Away” and finished with an encore of “Mr. Roboto” and “Renegade” leavings the fans with a historic night that they will never forget.
