Night started of with The Ballad of Ben Blank,
“A rock ‘n’ roll singer, a real humdinger
Solid gold, I’m a six-string gunslinger
I’m a name-taker and a deal-breaker
I’ve been told I’m just a masterpiece faker
I give tough love, ain’t gonna preach to you
You wanted rough stuff, I’m gonna teach it to you
Still an up setter, still a go-getter”
With a magnetic stage presence, Sam Roberts and his bandmates effortlessly commanded the attention of the captivated audience, taking you on a journey through landscapes filled with genres and emotions. Each song seemed to carry its own narrative, painting vivid portraits of love, longing, and the human experience.
“Sometimes it seems that we’re all gonna break and we’re falling
apart, but we make it through
Can you tell me what I’m feeling
Can you show me something real
I need something to believe in
I need someone who dreams like me
I just play by feel, can’t see at all
A projection on the wall”
