Ski Mask The Slump God Samples Smashing Pumpkins on Speaker-Obliterating “BreakTheRules!” Single
Ski Mask The Slump God has been an underground standard-bearer for more than a decade, fomenting mosh pits and collecting plaques with ease. The 20x-Platinum South Florida native powers up for a new era, releasing “BreakTheRules!,” his first new single of 2026.
Supercharging a sample of the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1998 single The End Is The Beginning Is The End” (famous for its appearance on the Batman & Robin soundtrack), “BreakTheRules!” is a showcase for Ski’s double-time cadence and breakneck bars, as he charges between speaker-obliterating bass and Billy Corgan’s emotional croons: “Rollin’ like a Bakugan/We could battle, Digimon/B*tch, I’m geeked from dusk ’til dawn,” he spits. In the video, Ski enters the octagon, gleefully presiding over several brawls at a riotous underground fight club. In a nod to the sampled artist, the Florida rapper takes a sledgehammer and literally smashes some pumpkins.
In the decade since he burst out of Broward County as a SoundCloud sensation and a member of the legendary Members Only crew, Ski has cemented himself as one of his generation’s defining rap artists. The mischievous rapper is dedicated to pushing himself forward, his elite lyricism popping during his solo songs and collaborations with icons like XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Dreamville, and more. Ski’s Platinum-selling debut album Stokeley peaked in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. The electric live performer has been a fixture at Rolling Loud and other festivals, bringing down the house with multi-Platinum hits like “Catch Me Outside,” “Take A Step Back,” “Nuketown,” and more.
Beyond music, Ski Mask has developed a large following as a streamer. He earned recognition from Mr. Beast, being one of just 50 creators selected for his streaming tournament, happening in May.
