The Florida Native Shows Just How Far He’s Come in the Latest Video from the 12/13 Deadstar 2 Project

Making his name with hedonistic slices of Florida trap, Smokepurpp has perfected the art of the short-form slapper. Delivering the long-awaited sequel to one of his biggest and best bangers, Purpp shares Audi II,” his new music video. The sequel to Purpp’s Gold-selling 2017 smash Audi,” the new single reunites Purpp with producer Ronny J, as the Alamo Records signee delivers declarative flexes that slyly one-up the boasts in the original track: “I wanted an Audi but then bought a Wraith,” rhymes Purpp on the hook. Directed by JMP Visuals, the video further illustrates Purpp’s glow-up from aspirational teenaged artist to globetrotting rapper, upgrading the setting from a scenic parking lot to a stately mansion, his chains from gold to platinum, and his fit from street to designer, as he dances with a pet doberman in front of a manmade waterfall. “Audi II” is the latest video from Deadstar 2, Purpp’s upcoming album, following “Dirty Dirty“ and Stevie” (1.1 million views).

Executive-produced by Mike DeanDeadstar 2 expands and refines Smokepurpp’s winning formula, bursting with sonic detail, but with enough space for Purpp to spin his witty bars into hard-hitting cadences. The album features appearances from Lil Skies on the recent single “Dirty Dirty,” as well as additional guest spots from Trippie ReddTy Dolla $ignMoneybagg Yo, and Denzel Curry.
