Fresh off the release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album Big Country, North Carolina artist sosocamo has just shared a new music video for “i don’t mind”. Directed by Keats + Tresco, the visual finds sosocamo on a ranch surrounded by figures that personify the darker forces pulling at his life. The release of Big Country last month was met with critical acclaim from The FADERCOMPLEX and Apple Music, finding sosocamo settling into his own as an artist and mastering his sound. A blend between Pop-influenced melodies and contemporary sound that he’s developed despite his rural upbringing –– an aesthetic that he continues to embrace, reflecting his close relationship to his roots, even as sosocamo‘s stature and music continue to gain traction internationally. Big Country serves as his first project with features, collaborating with Cactus Jack‘s SoFaygoYVL‘s ApolloRed1, and the New Detroit leader Lelo, as sosocamo emerges with a polished sound. Following the release of his breakthrough 2024 album No Servicesosocamo began traveling frequently, recording in professional studios for the first time, and working with a wide network of producers, including SyntheticTaz Taylor, BakkwoodsRio Lyva and Grayto, who is Executive Producer of Big Country. This period of mobility and collaboration shaped Big Country, a project that builds on the world established by No Service while shifting toward a more energetic and versatile sound designed to function across a wider range of genres. The forthcoming release and announcement of The Big Country Tour, a headlining 28-stop international tour, arrive in the midst of a momentous moment for sosocamo, marked by a Justin Bieber co-sign for his most recent single “200”, spots on the RapTV Next-up Class of 2025, COMPLEX‘s Artists to Watch in 2026 list and XXL‘s The Break, as well as a fresh viral moment for his hit single keep steady (130M+ Streams), and a collaboration with Russ (“WYA”) on the soundtrack of Steph Curry‘s new animated film, GOAT.

After introducing himself through his debut EP SCREENS in 2023, sosocamo released his debut album No Service in 2024, a 13-track hyper-regional exploration of North Carolina rap, released off the back of back-to-back hit singles in keep steady (130M+ Streams) and soulless (43M+ Streams). Recording primarily in his parents’ basement shortly after signing his first distribution deal with Broke Recordssosocamo began expanding his audience through consistent single releases, one night-only performances and viral moments that led to connections with 76ers guard Jared McCain and streamers Rakai, Jynxzi and RayNo Service established the foundation of a world built around rural isolation, emotional range and understated vocal experimentation, leading to his first 9-stop nationwide headlining tour. Following its release, sosocamo began traveling frequently, recording in professional studios for the first time and working with a wide network of producers including Synthetic, Taz Taylor, Bakkwoods, Rio Lyva, Algorithm, Audio, R&O, Oliver, Arno and Peeb. With an international tour under his belt and Big Country set for release next week, sosocamo enters a new stage defined by versatility, visibility and an ever-evolving artistic identity that encompasses his rural upbringing, pop-influenced melodic rap and grounding in contemporary underground rap.
