TEE GRIZZLEY PARTNERS WITH COALITION ON TEMPORARY SHELTER (DETROIT) IN CELEBRATION OF MOTHER’S DAY
Ahead of Mother’s Day, Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley stopped by COTS’ Peggy’s Place yesterday and made a surprise donation, covering the security deposits for three families to move out of COTS’ emergency shelter. The donation also enables those three mothers to purchase necessary household essentials in their new homes. Tee Grizzley stuck around to spend time, talk, and take photos with families that lean on COTS and COTS staff members.
Detroit-based COTS is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, supportive and affordable housing, and comprehensive support services for families experiencing and at risk of experiencing homelessness. Through partnerships, COTS assists families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education, and career goals as they overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and beyond. COTS is also the first organization certified in Mobility MentoringÂŽ, an economic mobility coaching approach that further enhances their ability to support hundreds of families in working towards economic self-sufficiency and create stabilized environments for a multi-generational impact on families.
