That Mexican OT Teams With 1900Rugrat for “Boogie Man,” a Menacing Highlight From His Upcoming Cucuy Album

With his drawly melodies and rapidfire flows, That Mexican OT seamlessly blends Houston rap culture with Texas tradition and his Latino heritage. Continuing his Halloween-themed rampage through the rap game, That Mexican OT teams up with 1900Rugrat for “Boogie Man,” his new single. Rhyming over ominous low-note pianos and horror movie horns, OT discusses how he haunts the Rio Grande Valley, chronicling his arsenal of firearms and pitch-shifting his voice into a nightmarish, chopped-n-screwed slurry. Florida firebreather 1900Rugrat complements OT perfectly, siccing himself on the instrumental with his breakneck flows. In the video, OT and 19 put on Beetlejuice-inspired looks while mobbing out in a deranged haunted house filled with menacing horror characters.

“Boogie Man” is the latest song to emerge from Cucuy, That Mexican OT’s next album. Following in the wake of singles like “Water, “Need That,” “Still Virgil,” and most recently, “I Can’t” ft. OC Chris, Cucuy finds That Mexican OT flaunting his hedonistic impulses as he refines his rhyming and singing skills into sharp relief. Named after a boogeyman-like character in Tejano folklore, the album expands OT’s Texas-fried sound, mixing personal reflections with party anthems and infusing hip-hop, country, and Latin influences into his music. The ideal soundtrack to Halloween season in Southeast Texas and beyond, Cucuy arrives later this month via Capitol Records / GoodTalk / Good Money Global / Manifest.

Earlier this fall, That Mexican OT announced his joint tour with comedian René Vaca, The 19-date tour criss-crosses the Southwest and Midwest, stopping in major markets like Atlanta, Chicago, and Detroit, making six stops in OT’s home state of Texas and three in René’s home state of California.
