THE CAVEMEN. RELEASE THEIR NEW SINGLE “DANCING SHOES”
Emerging Nigerian Highlife artists, The Cavemen. release their new single “Dancing Shoes”. The Cavemen. are Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James, a sibling duo celebrated for their unique take on the Highlife music they grew up listening to, infusing it with modern sensibilities, musical virtuosity, and their own rich, soulful storytelling. In their new single, “Dancing Shoes,” listeners are treated to a joyful mix of traditional African polyrhythms and modern vibes, with lyrics weaving seamlessly from their native Igbo to English, and Benjamin’s playful, muscular falsetto leading the way.
On the release, The Cavemen. state: “The song “Dancing Shoes” means a lot to us, we want people to let go of all their worries. All we can do is our best and leave it God. We want you to just put on your dancing shoes and dance, feel alive and free. Leave your worries and Burdens at home.”

Gifted players and singers with over 46 million streams worldwide to-date, The Cavemen. invented their unique sound of ‘Highlife Fusion’ which combines Highlife, afrobeats, jazz, and soul music. Deeply inspired by the late Fela Kuti, The Cavemen. are pioneering the renaissance of Highlife music and making it relevant to a contemporary generation that is hungry to connect to their roots. Since their debut and release of their two previous albums, they have also been featured on Davido’s GRAMMY-nominated album, Timeless and joined him on stage at Madison Square Garden. Additionally, they were featured on the tribute album for A24’s Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense (click HERE to listen) and have collaborated with Wizkid, Show Dem Camp, Asa, Ckay, Kizz Daniel, Basketmouth, Lady Donli, Flavour, amongst many others.
Ahead of this release, The Cavemen. were nominated for a 2025 Headies Award for Music Video Of The Year as a feature on Davido’s “Na Money” with Angelique Kidjo (Dammy Twitch). Last year, The Cavemen. dropped their 2-pack bundle “Medicine” and “Opportunity”.
In the bundle release, listeners can hear the highlife fusion that blends jazz and soulful melodies into one unique sound. They have made a splash in the tour circuit including several festivals in Europe, opening for Wizkid at a sold-out Tottenham Stadium, touring North America for a second time as special guests of Grammy-winning artist PJ Morton, selling out London’s Koko Camden & Church of Sound and going on their first solo US tour in 2024, performing at various venues including Central Park’s Summer Stage in New York.
Most recently, The Cavemen. were headline performers alongside Amaarae, Fireboy DML, and others for the Wales Bonner one night only musical celebration this past weekend at Guggenheim Museum in New York entitled Togetherness. The event was a distinct creative entity expanding Grace Wales Bonner’s ongoing engagement with the world of music and live performance.
