The Fray Kicks Off Global Tour with Consecutive Sold-Out Shows
RIAA Diamond-certified band The Fray kicked off their global headlining Summer of Light Tour this week with back-to-back sold out shows in Moncton, NB and Montreal, QC ahead of tomorrow’s stop in London, ON. The North American run launched in Canada and will head to the U.S. July 10 in Indianapolis, IN.
The shows opened with lead singer Joe King, guitarist Dave Welsh, and drummer Ben Wysocki performing the title track from the band’s new album, A Light That Waits. From there, the set moved seamlessly through a dynamic mix of fan favorites, chart-topping hits, and new music from the record, including current radio single “Ice Cold Lakes,” which continues climbing the Hot AC charts.
Known for their enduring success at radio, The Fray has earned multiple No. 1 hits across formats, RIAA Diamond and multi-platinum certifications, and billions of global streams, further cementing the lasting impact of their music. Fans especially embraced the nostalgic moments throughout the show, belting along to beloved hits like “Over My Head (Cable Car),” “You Found Me,” and many more. The band’s emotionally resonant songwriting continues to transcend generations, connecting with fans of all ages through their timeless catalog.
The tour supports the band’s new album, A Light That Waits, available now HERE. The project marks The Fray’s first full-length release in ten years, ushering in a renewed era defined by emotional clarity, cinematic songwriting, and the timeless sound that has connected the band with audiences around the world.
Their time on the road will continue this fall with the Autumn Light Tour, an extension of the band’s headlining run featuring newly announced European and UK dates. The tour begins October 27 in Poland and continues through November with stops in Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, and the UK, including Bristol, London, Glasgow, and Manchester. Additional special guests will be announced.
Rising to prominence in the early 2000s, The Fray introduced a soul-searching alt-rock sound that resonated on a global scale. Over the course of their career, the band has earned four GRAMMY nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, multiple Top 10 hits, and a devoted international fanbase. Their breakout single, How to Save a Life, is RIAA Diamond-certified, spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and became a defining cultural touchstone through its association with Grey’s Anatomy.
