THE GRAMMY® AWARD-NOMINATED QUEEN OF DANCEHALL, SPICE, RELEASES HER FIRST INDEPENDENT ALBUM ‘EMANCIPATED’
Spice debuts video to second single ‘Tape Measure’
Today, GRAMMY® Award-nominated Queen Of Dancehall Spice proudly presents her highly anticipated sophomore album, Emancipated. It marks the artist’s debut under her newly formed independent partnership with Stealth Music Group/UnitedMasters.
To celebrate the arrival of this red-hot album, Spice just shared the music video for the latest single and dance floor-ready anthem, “Tape Measure.” Her choreography instantly captivates as a party pops off around her. Meanwhile, the hook echoes as a global chant to move audiences worldwide.
“It means absolutely everything to me to be at this place. To now be free and to be emancipated. It’s the most powerful thing any artist could have in their entire career, to be free or independent or to be able to put out what you know. This is me. This is what’s coming from me. This is my art. This is my creativity. This is who I am,” says Spice.
She set the stage for the release of Emancipated with the banger “Clap Clap.” In addition to posting hundreds of thousands of streams and views, it earned widespread acclaim. AllHipHop proclaimed, “per the title, this release serves as an official call to action: to act up, get your dance on, and spread the good vibrations,” while BET touted it as “exceptionally dope work.”
Last month, Spice lit up the stage at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica, captivating a sold-out crowd. This stop marks the beginning of the last leg of her world tour, The Emancipated Tour, which began in April of this year. Remaining dates include Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, D.C., and an additional London date due to high demand.
Speaking to the excitement around her new music, Spice even received a shoutout from rap superstar Cardi B during an interview with Lip Service.
Stefflon Don and Spice’s latest single, ‘Clockwork’ debuted at #1 on the UK reggae iTunes charts, and Karlie Redd and Spice’s single ‘Werk’ debuted at #1 on the US reggae iTunes charts.
