Wild Nothing in Atlanta at the Vinyl

Written By | Andre Buchanan

Originally this show was suppose to be at Terminal West, there were some change of plans and Wild Nothing had to perform at another popular venue, Vinyl. This was another sold out show for Vinyl which isn’t a surprise. Drinks were being served and mercy was getting bought as fans wait for the lights to dim and the mic to be grabbed.

Joining Wild Nothing tour is an artist that will have you in a relaxed, chill vibe, Kate Bollinger. Coming out of Charlottesville Virginia, the singer-songwriter has such a calming demeanor to her music. This is the kind of music you sway back and forth to and you just feel comfort where you stand. Her band consists of Chris Lewis (guitar), Jimmy Trussell (bass), Jacob Grissom (bass) and John Trainum (keys). They performed songs off of their most recent Ep titled “I Don’t  Wanna Lose” and every song was perfect. Kate has a beautiful voice that anybody would fall in love with. Feel free to give her a listen and a follow on all social platforms.

I was excited to see Wild Nothing perform because like most fans, I’ve been listening to them for about 10 years now. Wild Nothing consist of Jack Tatum as the lead, Nathan Goodman on the guitar, Jeff Haley as the bassist, and Max Brooks as the drummer. If I could describe Wild Nothing’s music I would just say nostalgia. Their music is chilling in a good type of way. The type of music that you want to open your windows during the fall and just embrace the cool breeze coming through. Wild Nothing played some songs off of their most recent album Indigo but also played classic like “Summer Holiday”. Wild Nothing has influenced most of the indie bands you love today which is a reason why you should definitely check this band out. If it’s the last thing you do, you’re not going to want to miss out on their show.
