TOP DAWG ENTERTAINMENT’S RAY VAUGHN DROPS NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “SET IT OFF”

Top Dawg Entertainment’s rising hip-hop star Ray Vaughn drops new single “Set It Off” via Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records. On the track, Ray taps award-winning producer Hitmaka, SkipOnDaDeat, Jordan Hollywood and T4L for the production. Alongside the single, Ray dropped an official video that brings his song, bar for bar, to life — watch here. This latest release follows a slew of recent singles releases from Ray including “Hit and Run” featuring AZ Chike, “Vibe Responsibly” featuring TDE label-mate Isaiah Rashad and “Look Don’t Touch”.

Most recently, Ray wrapped up the TDE University Tour where he went to nine HBCU campuses to perform, in addition to TDE creating an interactive, engaging experience at each school with activations and takeovers in partnership with BET and Toyota.

Last year, Top Dawg Entertainment presented one of its rising stars, Ray Vaughn, with the unleash of his conceptual and critically-lauded debut mixtape, The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu, a coming-of-age story disguised as a mixtape, yet as vivid and real as the Long Beach streets Vaughn describes in it. It encapsulated Ray’s fervent hunger to persevere along with his ability to know exactly what it takes to survive with your soul still intact. Amid the bellowing chatter surrounding the mixtape’s deeply vulnerable subject matters, and Ray’s sharp bars laden across beautifully melodic productions, it was confirmed exclusively by Rolling Stone, he had successfully inked a major label signing with RCA Records in partnership with TDE.

Ray’s profound clarity and understanding of self, paired with his hard-fought grit and unwavering determination—as well as, of course, his outstanding mic skills—is what landed him his own COLORSX debut, in addition to a spot in XXL Magazine’s 2025 Freshman Class. He wrapped the year performing in November at Tyler the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw; and in December, alongside his labelmates SZA, Doechii, SchoolBoy Q, Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad, and more for the 12th annual TDE Christmas concert, toy drive and community giveback in Watts, presented by nonprofit: Top Dawg Love the Kids.

The buzz from 2025 catapulted Ray into the spotlight among hip hop fans and critics alike, resulting in On The Radar founder, Gabe Pabon keeping close watch of him, and recently inducting him into the OTR brand’s inaugural ‘Rap’s New Class’ Vol. 1, 2026 cypher set, which dropped today in tandem with the new single.
