Tove Lo Turns The Salt Shed Fairgrounds Into a Dance Party on the Estrus Tour in Chicago

With Mallrat opening the night, Tove Lo brought new music, fan favorites, and plenty of emotion to an outdoor Chicago crowd.

Tove Lo brought her Estrus Tour to Chicago for an outdoor performance at The Salt Shed Fairgrounds, delivering a night that blended new material with some of the biggest songs from throughout her career. Before Tove Lo took the stage, Australian artist Mallrat opened the evening, warming up the crowd with her own set, which included “Pavement.”

Once Tove Lo took over the outdoor stage, she kicked off her set with “I’m the Cake” before moving into “Cool Girl.” From there, the night traveled through different eras of her music with songs including “My Gun,” “Are U Gonna Tell Her?,” “Moments,” “Grapefruit,” and “Idiot.”

Throughout the performance, Tove Lo kept a close connection with the Chicago audience. Between songs, she spoke about how much she loves Chicago and reflected on memories of playing her first show in the city. The moment added a personal touch to the evening and showed the history she has built with Chicago audiences over the years.

The timing of the concert also made the night particularly special. Tove Lo spoke about her new album arriving the following day, giving fans at The Salt Shed a chance to celebrate with her just hours before its release. She also switched between two different outfits during the show, helping distinguish different portions of the performance as the night continued.

Some of the biggest moments, however, came from songs fans already knew by heart. When “Talking Body” began, the outdoor Fairgrounds turned into a massive dance floor, with people across the crowd dancing along. Tove Lo kept that energy going with tracks like “Disco Tits,” “Bitches,” “Lady Wood,” “2 Die 4,” and “No One Dies From Love.”

Later came one of the loudest singalongs of the evening with “Habits (Stay High).” From the opening moments of the song, voices could be heard throughout the entire outdoor area as fans sang along with Tove Lo. More than a decade after its release, the reaction showed just how strongly the track continues to connect with her audience.

The final stretch included “The Bad One,” “Heat,” and “I’m Your Girl Right?”, bringing the outdoor Chicago show to its conclusion.

Between Mallrat’s opening set, Tove Lo’s connection with Chicago, the excitement surrounding her new album, and a crowd that danced and sang throughout the night, the Estrus Tour stop at The Salt Shed felt both like a celebration of where Tove Lo has been and a preview of where she is headed next.
