The vinyl release arrives in celebration of the wide release of REGGAE GIRLZ, the powerful new documentary from Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton. More than a sports documentary, REGGAE GIRLZ is a celebration of resilience, representation, and the power of community. Through the voices of players, families, fans, and advocates, the film explores how a generation of women helped transform Jamaican football and inspire audiences far beyond the pitch.

REGGAE GIRLZ shares the story of Jamaica’s Women’s National Football Team and the players, families, fans, and communities who helped carry them onto the world stage. Set against the backdrop of one of the most attended women’s sporting events in history, the documentary follows the Reggae Girlz on their extraordinary journey to Australia for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. When the team is struggling from limited resources, the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation and Cedella Marley, the Global Ambassador of the Jamaica Women’s Football Team (2014-2024), step in to help pave their way. As the first Caribbean team to qualify for two consecutive World Cups, the team is determined to prove that, even with everything against them, their talent and resilience are unstoppable.

Says Cedella Marley, “There was no way that we would not have a rich musical element to this documentary. REGGAE GIRLZ captures a powerful story of resilience, representation, and belief – both on and off the pitch – and we wanted to ensure that the soundtrack reflected those themes. The music of Jamaica has a vital energy to it, just like the women on this team and the story we wanted to tell. We are proud to release REGGAE GIRLZ: MOVIE SOUNDTRACK and raise funds.”

REGGAE GIRLZ is produced by Red Bull Studios and Astronaut Films, in association with Polygram Entertainment and Tuff Gong Collective. REGGAE GIRLZ is available to stream exclusively on Jolt from 27th August 2026 and on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies, TubiTV, & Xumo from 27th October 2026.
