Vayda shares new project ‘VAYTRIX’ | “afrovay” video out now

Ahead of her upcoming run on MAVI‘s shadowbox tour, Pigeons & Planes 2024 Rising Artist to Watch, Vayda, has just shared her new project VAYTRIX — out now along with an accompanying music video for “afrovay”. Almost entirely self-produced, VAYTRIX is a 15-track outing that steeps elements of indie pop, R&B, and hip-hop in Atlanta tradition, further solidifying Vayda‘s status as “The South’s Newest Sound.” The project boasts features from MAVI, Zelooperz, Amindi, and Na-Kel Smith, as well as additional production credits from Popstar Benny, Johan Lennox, and Tony Shhnow. VAYTRIX arrives on the heels of project cut “tahiti” (feat. Zelooperz), which The FADER hailed as one of this month’s essential tracks.

“This album is a reflection of breaking free from the system, of seeing beyond the surface and into the code of life,” Vayda explains. “I wanted each track to feel like a red pill moment — where your reality flips and you can’t go back. From the beats to the bars, it’s all about navigating illusions, fighting against control, and embracing your own power. It’s a soundtrack for those who are ready to wake up, to question everything, and move like Neo in their own story.”

Known for her glittery, sped-up sound, Vayda channels her explosive outbursts of thought into two-minute tracks, defying typical song structure with easy-flowing delivery, ethereal production, and off-kilter wordplay. VAYTRIX follows a momentous year for Vayda: she recently opened for Veeze on his Ganger tour and has released a strong run of singles throughout 2024, including “HILARY DUFF”  with ATTNWHORE, “Witness” (feat. 25streak), “PERFECT” (with Mercury and BISKHIT), “Baby Baby”, and “i might jus”. Vayda has also made recent guest appearances on Popstar Benny‘s “Wiz” alongside SadBoi, “cult classic” from Amindi’s new project Take What You Need and Then Some, Pink Siifu‘s “lookin..’!! (gorgeous)”, and MESSIAH!‘s “god’s fav”.
