VICENTE GARCÍA CELEBRATES TRIPLE 2025 LATIN GRAMMY®NOMINATION

Dominican singer-songwriter Vicente García celebrates his triple nomination for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMYs®, announced this morning via The Latin Recording Academy’s social media channels and YouTube page.
The singer is competing in the Album of the Year category, as well as for Best Contemporary Tropical Album, while “Quisqueya” —part of the LP—appears in the nominations for Best Singer-Songwriter Song.
“It is a true honor to receive this recognition from the Academy in three such meaningful categories, with an album born from a deep love for my homeland, the Dominican Republic: a dialogue between the ancestral and the contemporary that reflects the essence and the living images of my island,” shared Vicente.
García returns to the ceremony thanks to Puñito de Yocahú, his fourth studio album and first release in six years, where he delves into the Caribbean’s cultural and sonic fabric through an unparalleled rhythmic exploration.
On this production, García shines as an exceptional chronicler of Caribbean emotions, invoking pre-Columbian figures and Taíno deities such as Yocahú, the god of cassava and fertility, and Atabey, the mother of the waters, throughout the album’s 13 tracks.
Musically, García and renowned producer Eduardo Cabra draw inspiration from every sonic facet of the Dominican Republic, traversing bachata, merengue, and related genres like mambo, while innovating by fusing tradition with electronic beats and resources like the vocoder, enhancing the singer-songwriter’s interpretive nuances. Additionally, salsa, reggae, and even funk coexist harmoniously throughout the production, infusing each narrative with tropical essence.

Throughout his career, García has won four Latin GRAMMYs®, including Best New Artistin 2017, a ceremony at which he also claimed two additional awards: Best Singer-Songwriter Album for A La Mar and Best Tropical Song for “Bachata en Kingston.”
The 26th Annual Latin GRAMMYs® ceremony will take place on November 13, 2025, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
