yetep Unites With Lauded Songstress Trella on UK Garage-Laced Melodic House Love Ballad “Hate It When It’s You” on Lost In Dreams Records – OUT NOW

Korean-American producer yetep signals a new chapter with the release of “Hate It When It’s You”, the first salvo from an upcoming stream of releases he has in the works. Arriving via Lost In Dreams Records on May 30, “Hate It When It’s You” is a poignant and polished collaboration with Brooklyn’s rising vocal powerhouse Trella, setting the tone for an album rooted in vulnerability and sonic exploration.
Blending melodic house with subtle nods to UK garage, “Hate It When It’s You” walks the tightrope between hesitation and surrender. Trella’s featherlight vocals narrate the emotional turbulence of resisting new love, only to be overwhelmed by its inevitability. Underneath, yetep crafts a soundscape of wistful piano progressions, pitch-shifted vocal textures, and shuffling drumwork that eventually erupts into a warm, fuzzed-out melodic bass finale.
This collaboration marks yetep’s first direct work with Trella after previously remixing her Dabin-assisted single, “World’s Away.” It’s a fitting reintroduction to the producer’s evolving style: genre-fluid and deeply personal.
Describing the creative force stemming from the track’s core, yetep explains: “The song is about being certain that nothing will work out—until you meet someone who makes you question everything. That one person makes you willing to take a chance, even when everything else says not to. I wanted this song to lead the album. At the time, I was heavily inspired by UK Garage, and after remixing Dabin’s ‘Worlds Away,’ I knew I had to work with Trella. I’m glad everything came together so cohesively. I hope you enjoy the record.”

As a longtime member of the Lost In Dreams family, yetep has released a string of standout singles including “Whisper,” “Deep End,” “Never Go Back,” and “Melting,” and contributed two EPs through his STARSIGNS project alongside Manila Killa and MYRNE. His music consistently lands radio support from Illenium, Adventure Club, Alison Wonderland, and ARMNHMR, among others. Beyond the music, yetep has built a career grounded in purpose. Through his Common Unitÿ showcase series, he’s used his platform to raise awareness around mental health and homelessness.
“Hate It When It’s You” is just a first look at what’s to come for yetep this year. With a huge endeavor on the horizon and headline shows soon to be announced, yetep is ready to turn the page on a powerful new story.
