ga

Statement from the Georgia Aquarium

The coronavirus COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the world. We have been closely monitoring the ever-evolving situation and continue to be committed to the health and wellbeing of our guests, staff, volunteers and animals. We have been working hard to communicate clearly and keep everyone safe during the ongoing spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to close Georgia Aquarium. We will close to the public beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020 and will remain closed until Saturday, March 28, 2020. We will continually reassess our operating schedule until then.

All Animal Interactive Programs, animal encounters, sleepover programs, swims & dives, birthday parties and other programming are cancelled. Please contact us to reschedule your tickets or experiences for another date, receive a credit for future use.

Our Yoga by the Water event on March 17 and our Sips Under the Sea: Y2K event on March 20 are also canceled. Your ticket to these events will be honored for the upcoming April 14 or May 1 events. If you have any questions, please email us.

During the closure, our animals will receive uninterrupted care from our trainers, aquarists and veterinarians. We implemented enhanced cleaning procedures when awareness for COVID-19 heightened and will continue to sanitize and clean our facility even during our closure to the public. We will continue to follow guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and will update operations and policies as necessary. We encourage everyone to visit the CDC website for all information and updates on COVID-19.

For more information, please follow our social media accounts and website for updates.

This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the complexities of this evolving situation. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you all in the future.
