BASSVICTIM DROPS NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “JAGÓDKI (BLUEBERRIES)”
Bassvictim drops new single “Jagódki (Blueberries)”, a collision of blown-out bass, feverish vocals, and warped pop instincts. The track arrives alongside a self-directed video by Ike Clateman, which captures two boxers fighting it out in the ring, spliced with surreal imagery that transforms the opponent into something altogether elusive.
Bassvictim will be heading on their headline White Flag North American tour this fall beginning in San Diego Sept 22nd and stopping through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Austin, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia and more before concluding in New York Oct 31st at Knockdown Center.
Vocalist and songwriter Maria Manow and producer Ike Clateman have carved out a singular space. Defined by raw candor and a willingness to take unapologetic risks, Pitchfork tout the duo as, “always funnier and more creative than other modern electroclash revivalists” with “freakishly unstable songs” that are “intoxicating.”
Following a run of early releases including Basspunk and Basspunk 2, Bassvictim released their debut album Forever, followed by their latest EP ?, pushing their sound into stranger and more emotionally expansive territory. Alongside the familiar low-end sonics and bruising electronic production, the project makes room for ambient textures, folk-inspired melodies, and moments of startling intimacy.
