BILMURI RELEASES NEW ALBUM AMERICAN MOTOR SPORTS OUT NOW
THE AMERICAN MOTOR TOUR KICKS OFF AUGUST 10th IN BOSTON
Bilmuri proudly presents his new full-length album AMERICAN MOTOR SPORTS via Columbia Records. For the uninitiated, the Columbus, OH singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer a.k.a. Johnny Franck specializes in fascinating genre alchemy, bringing together alternative rock, heavy metal, country, and pop and endearing genuine cult fandom from an audience affectionately known as “MURI NASH” (short for “Muri Nation”).
The ten-track album simply slams. On one end of the spectrum, “SPINNIN’ YOU AROUND” will gracefully jump from the heights of a soaring pop hook, “I should be spinnin’ you around,” down into the center of the moshpit with a bludgeoning hardcore breakdown and squealing guitar lead. On the other, he’ll get in his feelings on a ballad like “MISS ME,” holding back tears on the chorus, only to let them loose during the guitar solo. For “STRAIGHT THROUGH YOU,” he teams up with alternative pop mainstays A R I Z O N A, tempering emotionally charged vocals with a skyscraping saxophone solo. The finale “DRUNK ENOUGH” doubles as a nakedly honest confession. Guitars toss and turn beneath an intoxicating refrain uplifted by keyboards as he wonders aloud, “Will it be over? He set the stage for the record with “2016 CAVALIERS (Ohio)” (feat. Knox) last week. Right out of the gate, it surged on DSPs with over 1 million total streams and viral impact for the music video. Meanwhile, he gathered millions of streams across album standouts, including “BETTER HELL (Thicc Boi),” “ALL GAS” (feat. Mitchell Tenpenny), “BLINDSIDED,” and more.
Bilmuri kicks off the “American Motor Sports” tour next month in support of the album release. The tour begins August 10th in Boston, MA and spans 25 cities before concluding on September 14th in Charlotte, NC.
