BROKIX AND ÑEJO REVAMP REGGAETON WITH NOSTALGIC POWER ANTHEM, “CONTIGO”
Amongst a scene dominated by its established aesthetics, Brokix stands out for raw authenticity: three Cali natives who blend unconventional mohawks and cropped tees with the Urban culture to create an appearance and approach as distinctive and daring as their musical proposal. Brokix reveal their newest heart-pumping anthem “CONTIGO”, a song that pays homage to the beloved old school essence of reggaeton, further enhanced by Puerto Rican legend Ñejo. “CONTIGO” arrives through Universal Music Latino and is now available to stream on all digital platforms.
“Yo quiero estar contigo, tu también quisiera estar conmigo” (I’d like to be with you, and you want to be with me too) Ñejo fires on the track’s opening monologue, right before its cutting transformation into a pulsating pop and reggaeton blend. For the experimental track – a perfect testament to the trio’s ability to spin a genre into a world of their own – Brokix pairs hard-hitting kicks and an airy melody to capture the sensual essence of reggaeton, ultimately bridging the new with old school together. Sexy and hypnotic, nostalgic yet modern, “CONTIGO” brings a back-and-forth energy, exploring the push and pull of desire. Melting into shimmering synths and heart-pumping kicks, “CONTIGO” smoothly oscillates between Kryan’s brighter vocals and the suave flow and charisma only Jayce can exude, followed by a scintillating vocal performance by Brokix’s KidNicco.
“For us to release a song with Ñejo symbolizes another dream come true, because we have memories of when we were little, listening to Ñejo’s songs and he is one of the greatest and most respected in the history of the genre. It’s very gratifying for us that one of the most consolidated and solid heavy-hitters of the genre is recognizing us, it means that we are doing things right.” – Brokix
“CONTIGO” comes accompanied by a music video directed by RonnyXavier that follows Brokix and Ñejo while they perform their verses in a minimalistic studio space as the laid-back spirit of the track seeps through. From its sensual split-screen shots to meticulous arrangement of muted tones, “CONTIGO” is visually simple, yet enticing and instantly hypnotic. On the track, the Colombian artists stay true to their “misfits of the urban scene” title as they deliver a groovy track that blends Ñejo’s trailblazing energy with a modern Brokix twist.
Signed to Universal Music Latino, the self-proclaimed “rarxz” (which translates to “weirdos”) of the urban music scene have built up their identity on a revolutionary premise: a conscious rebelliousness that embraces diversity and celebrates these differences. Today, the multifaceted trio emerges as one of the most disruptive phenomenons of the Latin music scene, fearlessly defying the cultural “norm” with an exquisite blend of the rawness of 90s punk paired with the cadence of contemporary trap and reggaeton.
“So much time making music is paying off, some of the industry’s
biggest names are endorsing our sound.” – Brokix

“CONTIGO” tracks behind the release of “100 Años de Soledad,” released just last month, which revealed a more melancholic side of the band with R&B influences. Up next, Brokix will make their anticipated debut at the famed La Solar Festival in Medellin, Colombia on May 2 and 3 at the Parque Norte, sharing the stage with the likes of Morat, Jowell y Randy, Sebastian Ingrosso, Arcangel, and Kapo.
Throughout their impressive and rapidly-transcending career, Brokix has had groundbreaking collaborations with some of Latin music’s most distinguished acts such as Feid, Justin Quiles, and Nanpa Básico. Their remix of “Sueños Perdidos” alongside Feid, Justin Quiles, and Esteban Rojas has amassed over 21 million streams on Spotify alone, and over 5.5 million views on YouTube.
In a world where authenticity has become an empty slogan, Brokix emerges as a beacon of true self-expression. “We are not just another band in the urban movement; we’re the voice of a generation that grew up between Blink-182 and reggaeton playlists, between the nostalgia of the 90s and the digital revolution, between the freedom to be and the pressure to fit in.”
