CAMDEN MALIK SHARES NEW SINGLE + VIDEO “IMMEDIATELY”
DMV-by-way-of-Sacramento rapper Camden Malik shares new single and video “Immediately”. The new track is Malik’s second offering from his imminent new album 40 Acres, out November 5th via 10k Global and closely follows the project’s lead single, “What U On”, which dropped alongside an accompanying Nicholas Stafford Briggs-directed visual.
A mainstay in the 10k orbit since its origins, Camden Malik is a high school friend of MIKE’s that has built his own distinctive cross-coastal sound having lived between New York City and Sacramento most of his life, evident across the new project’s eleven songs. 40 Acres finds Camden breaking out with his most focused effort to date, rooted in ruthless dedication to his craft, amidst a whirlwind of life circumstances that are steeped into his lyricism. Executive produced by MIKE and SURF GANG’s Eliproperr, the project draws out self reflections on aspects of survival and personal sacrifice from his upbringing and lived experiences on both coasts. Past and present influences from each side come full circle in his cross regional sound and organic approach to seeing the music through.
The album was recorded across New York, Chicago, Baltimore and Earl Sweatshirt’s Los Angeles studio. Embracing the wider musical community that Camden is part of, 40 acres includes features from Lerado Khalil, Niontay, Cletus Strap, and Rockitneedspace, seamlessly connecting Malik with a new generation of rappers on the rise across MIKE’s 10k Global and Earl’s Tan Cressida labels. Having previously earned praise from Pitchfork “The Ones” spotlight for his track “Wit My Hands,” and collaborated with the likes of MIKE, Vic Spencer and GRIMM Doza, the new project closely follows his collaborative project with Panamera P from September, You Can’t Land A Plane Anywhere.
