CATCHING UP WITH PRODUCER ROGÉT CHAHAYED “BROCCOLI” AT TEN: HOW ROGÉT’S FIRST PRODUCING HIT BECAME AN ERA-DEFINING TRACK

Superproducer Rogét Chahayed (pronounce it ro-JAY shah-HIGH-yet) boasts the credits to be considered a true hitmaker of the 21st century: “Kiss Me More,” “SICKO MODE,” “APT.,” among many, many others. In fact, his first big hit, DRAM and Lil Yachty’s “Broccoli,” recently celebrated its 10th birthday as well as a Diamond certification. A huge draw of that song lies in its piano line and playful flute, played by none other than Rogét, whose classical training informs his process with rappers and pop singers to wonderful results.

With a track record that includes kicking off Doja Cat’s Planet Her and a Grammy nomination this year for one of K-Pop’s most popular songs ever “APT.”, Rogét’s work defines the songs that have moved the planet for the past decade. He has an aptitude for genres from hip-hop to pop to EDM having produced songs for acts like Big SeanCarly Rae JepsenJennifer Lopez, BTS, Jack Harlow and Skrillex.

On Friday, he added to his reputation as a hitmaker for the stars with production work on two songs on Drake’s new album Iceman. He previously produced Drake’s 6x Platinum smash “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” which has notched over 1.1 billion Spotify streams. Now, he can share that he had a hand in “STFU Janice” and “B’s On The Table ft. 21 Savage.”
