Following the release of his critically-acclaimed sophomore album REST IN BASSAtlanta trendsetter Che has just announced that he will be embarking on his headlining Rest In Bass Tour across North America –– kicking off on September 3rd in Houston, TX. The long-awaited REST IN BASS was instantly met with critical acclaim upon release, being met with praise from the likes of The FADERHypebeast and Pitchfork who dubbed both the lead single “HELLRAISER” (feat. OsamaSon) and the album as Best New Music. After teasing the release of REST IN BASS over the past year, resulting in unsurmountable online buzz and fan fury, it all reached a crescendo when 42 CEO received a package and a letter from Che containing a pre-loaded iPod Shuffle with REST IN BASS on it, along with a note confirming its release date (7/18). The long-awaited album builds on the momentum of last year’s breakout project, Sayso Says, and finds Che expanding on his signature chaotic electro-rage-rap sound, pushing it into even wilder, more aggressive and distorted territory. Moving between playful melodies and punishing, bass-heavy rhythms, REST IN BASS lives up to its aptly chosen title, serving as Che‘s most ambitious solo effort to date. Diving into a much darker sonic direction than its predecessor, REST IN BASS is a nonstop, 18-track mosh pit that explores blown-out, distorted production and varied vocal styles to create an intense, high-octane atmosphere. “I just want to be a real rockstar for this album”, Che told The FADER earlier this month, before VMAN solidified his ethos on release day by cementing that REST IN BASS finds “new-gen hip-hop’s lovable eccentric gets heavier and ditches trippy colors for a darker aura”.

Arriving on the heels of his performance at Lyrical Lemonade‘s Summer Smash, where he popped out with North West, as well as his run earlier this year opening for SahBabii on the Resurrection Tour, the arrival of REST IN BASS serves as the culmination of the momentum that Che has been building throughout 2024 and into 2025. Preceded by a run of well-received singles, including “Green Day”, the Pitchfork Selects Playlist-featured “Love (MKB)” (4M+ Streams), and January’s “Pose For The Pic” (6M+ Streams), which arrived with an Instagram-exclusive video, Rest In Bass is the long-awaited follow-up tohis debut album Sayso Says, released independently last August alongside a Lyrical Lemonade-directed video for “I Rot, I Rot.” (7M+ Streams). Officially signaling the next chapter for Che, an artist with a singular, futuristic vision and a true cult following both online and in the real world, REST IN BASS is finally out now.
