Codeko and Ella Poletti are reuniting for another glistening vocal-led house offering entitled “Keep Smiling”, released via Lost In Dreams Records. Building upon the chemistry from their ethereal collaboration, “Reel Me In,” the latest offering finds the pair further solidifying their pristine reputation for delivering pure dancefloor euphoria.

Taking cues from classic piano house of yesteryear, “Keep Smiling” is bolstered by Codeko’s mastery over the ivories. Its cheery piano chords are nothing short of grin-inducing, with upbeat progressions that bounce as much as they bring joy. Poletti pens infectious phrases—focusing on the act of putting on a happy face despite undergoing life’s hardships—with her enchanting vocals walking a tightrope between powerful and emotional. High-flying drums and seething basslines add weight behind the glimmering synth work. This is the kind of track that catalyzes bodily movement and emotional awareness in spades.

Reflecting on how he constructed his seventh single on Lost In Dreams, Codeko says: “The lyrics of ‘Keep Smiling’ are about staying positive and happy, even when things aren’t going your way. I wanted the production to draw on a simpler time; throwback to my UK roots with the garage-influenced drums, classic Korg M1 piano, and an obnoxiously upbeat chord progression that helps put a smile on your face. The ‘on trend,’ nostalgic sound design helps tie it all together into a familiar-but-fresh record that I’m proud of.”

Poletti continues by describing the moment they came together to write the new piece of music: “The day we wrote ‘Keep Smiling’ was a day that we were all really aligned. We wanted to be real about how we were feeling and we all agreed that we’d been going through it in some way or another. It felt real to write about keeping a smile on our face through the rough times because that’s how a lot of us cope. Deep down, we’re all just doing our best to stay positive.”

Growing up in the UK, Codeko spent his younger years studying piano, eventually going on to get a degree in physics from Cambridge University. Since 2014, he has been bridging the worlds of music and science together with his electronic music project that has seen him release on Monstercat, Subsidia, and Ophelia.

Together with Poletti’s diverse vocal talent, they have crafted a riveting yet energetic belter that is sure to do damage at clubs and festivals as the summer months get closer and closer.
