EMJAY REVEALS THE COVER OF POP PESADO, THE ALBUM PAVING THE WAY FOR A NEW WAY OF UNDERSTANDING POP
EMJAY reveals the official cover of POP PESADO, the most important album of her career to date and the starting point of a transformation that redefines her musical, visual, and cultural identity.
The cover is born from the duality of POP PESADO. On one hand, pop represents EMJAY’s more feminine, playful, and provocative side; on the other, the heavier side connects with rock, strength, attitude, and the emotional intensity that runs through her music.
The intention was to bring these two worlds together in a single image: the feminine with the raw, the playful with the visceral, and the fantasy of pop with a much stronger energy. Ultimately, the cover seeks to visually represent who EMJAY is in this new chapter.
The cover was created under the creative direction of Jorge Patiño, with photography by Adonay Sánchez, makeup by Aleida Gómez, styling by Daniela Altamira, hair by Jacques Claude, and editing and color by Natalia Pérez.
Set for release on September 24, POP PESADO marks a defining moment in EMJAY’s career. More than an album, it introduces a distinctive language where pop, rock, fashion, imagery, and narrative come together, driven by a vision that seeks to move beyond music and establish itself as a creative and cultural statement.
Featuring 13 tracks, the album includes collaborations with DannyLux, Ximena Sariñana, and Alanis Yuki, bringing together different sensibilities within a project that challenges the traditional rules of pop and expands the boundaries of EMJAY’s sound.
