FONO CELEBRATES RECOGNITION AS “REGIONAL MEXICAN RADIO LABEL OF THE YEAR” AT BILLBOARD LATIN POWER PLAYERS 2025

Industry leaders, artists, and Billboard’s 2025 Latin Power Players gathered on Monday, October 20, in Miami to officially kick off Latin Billboard Week. The special evening celebrated the talent, innovation, and vision driving Latin music on a global scale.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Hannah Karp, Billboard’s Editor-in-Chief, who praised the attendees as “the most powerful leaders in Latin music,” highlighting their key role in the genre’s growth and evolution.

During the ceremony, Fono was honored with the “Regional Mexican Radio Label of the Year” award, received by Ángel Kaminsky and Ana Martínez on behalf of the label. The trophy was presented by Colombian singer-songwriter Ela Taubert.

This recognition reaffirms Fono’s leadership in regional Mexican music, fueled by the success of iconic artists such as Alejandro Fernández, Banda Carnaval, Banda El Recodo, Banda Los Recoditos, Banda Los Sebastianes, Calibre 50, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, and Los Tigres del Norte, whose careers, consistency, and deep connection with audiences have been fundamental in achieving this milestone.

With this award, Fono strengthens its commitment to continue expanding the sounds and stories of regional Mexican music on a global scale, celebrating its culture, roots, and contemporary evolution.
