ALEJANDRO FERNÁNDEZ PAYS TRIBUTE TO HIS ROOTS WITH “NO ME SÉ RAJAR”
The century-old tradition of mariachi and regional Mexican music finds new life in the voice of Alejandro Fernández, the foremost representative of Mexican music, who gifts us with a new version of “No Me Sé Rajar”, a song immortalized by his father, Vicente Fernández, making it an absolute classic of the national repertoire.
In this regard, Alejandro mentions: “I was born with two blessings: to be Mexican and to belong to the Fernández family. These two elements make the magical tradition that represents the music of our country flow strongly through my veins. I want to give you something that is not just mine but belongs to all of Mexico and even all of Latin America, as this sound carries the essence and roots of entire generations and families that preserve our memories.”
In addition, the singer shares what it means to sing a song that his father turned into a legend. “This tribute, besides being about Mexico, is for my father, Don Vicente Fernández, the great Mexican charro who proudly carried the sounds of our land in his heart. My father taught me many of our traditions, like wearing a charro suit and riding horses, but above all, he showed me how to sing Mexican music from the heart, to offer love to the audience and the stage.”
These qualities make the new version of “No Me Sé Rajar,” produced by Eden Muñoz, as endearing and powerful as the original, but with the added freshness characteristic of Alejandro, who knows how to infuse a touch of pop and sonic sophistication into every rendition, creating a perfect bridge between tradition and modernity.
Finally, Alejandro says: “The best of all these lessons is that, as a good Mexican, ‘No Me Sé Rajar.’ I hope you enjoy this song, which we made with all the love and pride that can fit in the world.”
