GLOBAL AFROBEATS STAR VICTONY RETURNS TO COLORSxSTUDIOS WITH “2FRESH”
Global Afrobeats star Victony returns to COLORSxSTUDIOS for his second-ever performance on the platform, performing “2FRESH,” a standout from his sophomore album, STARLIFE. Following his COLORS debut during the Very Stubborn era, Victony returns with a new performance that reflects his continued evolution as an artist and willingness to push beyond familiar sounds. “2FRESH” is out now on all DSPs and leads the COLORS ALL SHOWs playlist.
Built around Victony’s singular melodic sensibility and instinctive approach to experimentation, STARLIFE moves between Afrobeats, R&B, Hip-Hop and Afro-Rage, exploring ambition, desire, intimacy, and self-discovery without being confined to one sound. The FADER praised the album’s “sexy smooth” approach, while its 15-track debut saw eight tracks debut on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart in the same week, including “SLICK” at No. 2. STARLIFE has since surpassed 186.2 million global streams, with “SLICK” crossing 102.6 million and reaching No. 1 on both the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and Nigeria’s Top 100, marking Victony’s first official solo No. 1 in Nigeria. The track also reached No. 8 on the Global Shazam Top Songs Chart and was included in Harper’s BAZAAR’s Song of the Summer selection.
Victony has continued to bring STARLIFE to life onstage, performing at AfroPlus Fest in Washington, D.C. this fall before delivering an acoustic rendition of “SLICK” and an Afrobeats medley for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Live Lounge. He also performed at Composers Breakfast Club in Malibu and AFRIMMA Fest in Texas, further expanding his live presence across the U.S.
The album follows the trajectory ignited by the 2022 breakout “Soweto,” which has surpassed 1.2 billion global streams and 202 million YouTube views. Its remix featuring Rema and Don Toliver has amassed more than 146 million views, while “Soweto” earned Victony a 2023 Headies win for Best Recording of the Year. He continued expanding his sound across 2024’s Stubborn, featuring Asake, Saint JHN, Shallipopi, Teezo Touchdown, and Shorae Moore, and 2025’s Very Stubborn, featuring Don Jazzy, Olamide, Terry G, and Shorae Moore, earning him a COLORS performance and features in Teen Vogue, BBC, GRAMMY.com, and UPROXX. His evolution has been met with coverage from NPR, Billboard, The FADER, VIBE, Entertainment Tonight, and more. From “Soweto” to STARLIFE, Victony has continued to expand his reach without limiting himself to one sound or scene.
