“Not long ago I was offered a job opportunity in Los Angeles that I was so excited about. When I shared this with my then partner, I expected them to be excited for me but instead I was met with a look of disgust and irritation. I realised then and there that I was just a means to their happiness but what I wanted to do was not even a consideration. When I sat down at the piano after getting home, the lyrics just came to me…” says Tanis.
