GRACIE ABRAMS SELLS OUT HEADLINING TOUR; NEW SINGLE “CLOSE TO YOU” BEST PERFORMING RELEASE TO DATE

Friday marked a monumental day for GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams as her headlining North American tour, The Secret of Us Tour, which features the highest number of shows and biggest rooms she’s headlining of her career thus far, resulting in over 100,000 tickets sold. The tour was announced last Monday and Abrams quickly added five dates across the tour due to incredible fan demand:  two additional shows at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday for three shows total in each city, as well as a second show in Denver. The Secret of Us Tour kicks off September 5 in Portland, OR and special guest Role Model will join Abrams as direct support on the tour. See below for full routing. 

Along with selling out her headlining tour on Friday, Gracie released her highly anticipated new single, “Close To You”. It marks her best performing single release to date with over six million streams in its first full two days of release and over three million streams on day one on Spotify alone. “Close to You” is Gracie’s first time to enter the Spotify Global Chart, which debuted at #18 in the US and #41 globally. The new single is also Gracie’s highest streaming song on Spotify. 

Upon release, “Close to You,” was met with an outpouring of praise from fans and critics alike. Featured in Billboard’s “Best New Music” round-up, they heralded the song as “a storming, synth-driven declaration of love and lust that sounds reminiscent of Pure Heroine-era Lorde covering 1989-era Taylor Swift, with all the radio-ready implications baked into that.” And Rolling Stone featured the new single in their “Songs You Need To Know” round-up.  

Next week, Gracie will perform the new single on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on the show’s outdoor stage on Thursday, June 20, on the eve of the release of her sophomore album, The Secret of Us. 

The Secret of Us will be released on June 21 and includes lead single, “Risk,” which Abrams released last month along with the official video. “Risk” amassed an impressive 1 million streams on Spotify in less than 10 hours after the release and currently has 33 million streams to date. The Secret of Us brings a bold new effervescence to her songwriting and marks the first time Gracie took a hands-on role in the production process. The album was  co-produced by her friend and frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner.
