Half Moon Run’s Unforgettable Sold-Out Show in the Heart of Toronto

Montreal-based indie rock band, Half Moon Run (Devon Portielje, Dylan Phillips, Conner Molander) graced the stage at History in Toronto November 23rd, 2023. The performance was a celebration of their latest album, “Salt,” released on June 2nd, 2023, that features standout singles like “You Can Let Go,” “9beat,” and “Everyone’s Moving Out East.”
Sharing the spotlight was the talented UK singer-songwriter Billie Marten, whose recent album, “Drop Cherries,” released on April 7th, 2023, has been making waves. The synergy between these two musical forces undoubtedly created an unforgettable night of diverse and dynamic performances for the sold-out crowd at History.

The night began with Billie Marten, the crowd warmly greeted her with applause. Marten’s performance was nothing short of enchanting. With her soulful voice and masterful guitar skills, she created an intimate atmosphere that had everyone swaying from side to side. Marten’s authenticity and genuine connection with the audience left an indelible mark, setting the stage perfectly for the much-anticipated arrival of Half Moon Run.
Stepping onto the stage, Devon, Conner, and Dylan were greeted with a resounding eruption of cheers. The trio kicked the evening off with their latest hit, “You Can Let Go,” which established the vibe for the night. As they proceeded to perform tunes from their latest album, the crowd energetically joined in, dancing and singing along to every track. Additionally, the band treated the crowd to some of their older hit tracks including 2019’s “Razorblade”, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the venue.

Going beyond the music, Half Moon Run‘s stage presence was magnetic, drawing the audience into an immersive experience. The lights and visuals added a dynamic layer to the show, transforming it into a multi-sensory experience.
Bringing the night to a close with an encore, Half Moon Run responded to the thunderous applause with a stellar performance. Treating the crowd to three additional songs, including their massive hit “Full Circle.”
