HOTWAX RELEASE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘DROP’
SUPPORT ROYAL BLOOD ON US + UK TOURS
Rising teenage three-piece HotWax unveil their thunderous new single ‘Drop’ via Marathon Artists. The new track was mixed by Alan Moulder (Foo Fighters, Wet Leg) and marks their first new music since the release of their acclaimed debut EP ‘A Thousand Times’. The release is accompanied by a striking and hilarious UFO-themed official music video directed by Josh Quinton, with the band styled in Fall ‘23 Charles Jeffrey.
“My aim for this video was to create an explosive & exciting journey through the band members’ brains that matches the exhilarating energy of the song, whilst also fusing their own personal style with my love for trashy 70s B movies and 90s kids TV” explains Josh; “I wanted to use the symbolism of space travel to represent the band’s momentum and fresh landing into the world whilst adhering to a strong DIY ethos and reaching maximum altitudes of fun.”
The band are half way through a stacked summer of festivals and tours having played 4 riotous shows at The Great Escape, Mad Cool, Dot To Dot, Visions, and more, with the trio still due to play All Points East (The Strokes/Yeah Yeah Yeahs day) and headline the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading + Leeds before embarking on North America and UK support tours with Royal Blood this autumn.
‘A Thousand Times’ EP lead single ‘Treasure’ reached the BBC Radio 6 Music B-List as well as a ‘Next Wave’ on BBC Radio 1, with the EP earning widespread support from The Sunday Times, The Independent, NME, Dork, DIY, Clash, Gigwise and many more. Tallulah, Lola & Alfie are ripping up the template and ripping up stages across the UK. Having only recently left school, their rarified live energy and sound has already won the support of Courtney Love, Nova Twins, Wolf Alice, Jack Saunders, John Kennedy and Matt Wilkinson. HotWax harness the firepower of the grunge pioneers, their songs come armed with mighty choruses, and they possess the imaginative brilliance to stake out a new landscape in guitar music.
