HUDSON WESTBROOK RELEASES NEW SINGLE “HEY DALLAS”
River House Artists / Warner Records Nashville’s Texas country breakout Hudson Westbrook releases new single, “Hey Dallas”.
Written by Westbrook, Reid Haughton, Beau Bailey, and Lukas Scott, and produced by Scott and Ryan Youmans, “Hey Dallas” is a strolling play on “Houston, we’ve got a problem” – warning a city’s worth of folks about a whirlwind woman waltzing back into Westbrook’s atmosphere.
Trouble just touched down just north of Fort Worth
She’ll probably shoot me a text
‘Cause she’s just that forward
I was three drinks in when I caught wind she’s in the 76202
If she slips in I’m cavin’ in
To whatever that girl wants to do
Hey Dallas we got a problem
We both know how the story ends
This Lonestar heart’s gonna start to fall
If she starts talkin’ pretty again
So cut the lights out shut downtown down
She’ll be rollin’ in dressed to the nines
Hey Dallas
Hey Dallas, we got a problem tonight
The track marks Westbrook’s first new music since the release of his second EP, Exclusive – a five-song collection of catchy hooks that solidifies how “Westbrook is on the cusp of bona fide country music stardom” (Rolling Stone).
“‘Hey Dallas’ just came together really naturally and was a lot of fun to write.” Westbrook says. “I’ve been teasing it, and the reaction’s been awesome — I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
Earlier this month, Westbrook, returned to country radio with sophomore single “Painted You Pretty,” earning 60 first week stations, the #1 most-added single of the week upon impact.
“Painted You Pretty” became an early favorite from Westbrook’s acclaimed debut album, Texas Forever, catching like wildfire with fan demand at a fever pitch for the last six months. Westbrook made his national television debut performing the single on NBC’s TODAY in January – watch HERE.
Last week, Westbrook joined labelmate Gavin Adcock’s country covers project, Country Never Dies, with a raved-about cover of The Pointer Sisters’ 1981 crooner, “Slow Hand,” made popular within the genre by Conway Twitty’s countrified, 1982 rendition. Country Central applauds: “As one of the faces of the new generation of country music, the stakes for a cover like this were high, but Westbrook sound(s) completely dialed in for the task.” Listen to Hudson Westbrook’s twang-laden cover of “Slow Hand” HERE.
On the touring front, Hudson is on a roll with an equally massive year ahead. “Country music’s next breakout star” (American Songwriter) is on the road as direct support for Bailey Zimmerman now, with support dates for George Strait and Morgan Wallen on tap. He heads to Australia for his first-ever appearance at CMC Rocks on March 22. Find tickets HERE.
KEEP UP WITH HUDSON WESTBROOK
