“Cotton Candy Blvd.” was written by India Shawn, Yonatan “Chiiild”[;.? Ayal, Alexander Duncan IV, Colin Munroe, D’Mile, Rudolph > Catwell II and Lucky Daye, produced by D’Mile and Yonatan “Chiiild” Ayal, and engineered by D’Mile and John Kercy.
This release follows India Shawn’s return to music with her genre-bending single and video, “Kill Switch” via VANTA Music/Hollywood Records. Highlighting India’s mesmerizing voice and weaves the story of reclaiming one’s power. “Kill Switch” germinated the morning of the recording session with India waking up with the phrase “anybody else but you” in her head. When India arrived at the studio, Livvy Bennett and Michael Hunter (of indie rock band Mamalarky) were jamming on ideas that would shape the song, and that line clicked perfectly into place over the chords. D’Mile brought the production to life, and Varren Wade helped flesh out the melody and lyrics.
