Jack Harlow Turns The Fillmore Philadelphia Into a Celebration of His Own Catalog

Going into a Jack Harlow concert without knowing much about Jack Harlow isn’t exactly the conventional way to experience a show. For this reviewer, however, it offered a unique perspective.
Before August 15, the reviewer’s knowledge of Harlow was mostly limited to his featured verse on Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby.” They knew his name and recognized some of his biggest hits, but his solo catalog had never been part of their regular listening rotation. So when Harlow took the stage at The Fillmore Philadelphia, the question was simple: could he win over someone who wasn’t already a fan?
The answer was yes.
The night began with Clockwork DJ, formerly known as Mac Miller’s DJ, who quickly energized the crowd with a selection of recognizable hits. Tracks from artists like Drake, Leon Thomas, and Bryson Tiller had the audience singing along, while the barricade section earned multiple shoutouts for its enthusiasm.
James Savage followed, bringing his Louisville, Kentucky-based R&B sound to the stage. As another Louisville native, Savage was a fitting addition to Harlow’s lineup. Many audience members already knew his music, singing along to his songs word-for-word. His impressive vocals, high notes, and powerful belting made him a standout opener and demonstrated why he was a natural fit for the crowd.
Then, it was time for Harlow.
Opening with “Trade Places” and “Lonesome,” Harlow immediately had the venue on its feet. The crowd knew nearly every word, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a celebration than a traditional concert. Harlow repeatedly referred to the audience as “Real Day 1’s,” and their enthusiasm made it easy to see why.
His live band and backup singers also deserve recognition. The band brought energy to every song, while the backup singers delivered particularly impressive vocals that elevated the performance.
However, Jack Harlow’s personality was just as entertaining as his music. Midway through the set, he began reading signs from audience members, leading to some of the funniest moments of the night. When one fan asked him to do her “gender reveal,” Harlow initially thought she wanted him to reveal her own gender rather than the gender of a baby. Another fan asked him to “Teach me how to ride a bike,” prompting the hilarious response, “What makes you think I know how to ride a bike?”
Those moments showcased Harlow’s ability to connect with his audience beyond the music.
By the second half of the set, the reviewer began recognizing songs like “Dua Lipa.” When Harlow performed his verse on “Industry Baby,” the entire venue erupted, with fans screaming every word back at him. He closed with “First Class” and “Lovin’ On Me”, ending the night at full energy.
For someone who entered the venue unfamiliar with much of Harlow’s music, the reviewer left impressed. His charisma, humor, live musicianship, and connection with his fans made for an engaging performance—and perhaps most importantly, gave a newcomer a reason to listen.
Sometimes, the best concert reviews come from unexpected discoveries. This was certainly one of them.
