JASONMARTIN DEBUTS ON FX’S THE DROP: A SNOWFALL SAGA

West Coast artist, songwriter, and producer JasonMartin (aka Problem) continues to expand his creative footprint, making his acting debut as Trig on Episode 3 (“Family Matters”) of FX’s hit series The Drop: A Snowfall Saga which premiered this week. Beyond stepping in front of the camera, JasonMartin plays an integral role behind-the-scenes as Creative Consultant, Original Lyric Writer and Vocal Producer on the series.

Additionally, he is the Executive Producer alongside Emil Pinnock for both the official companion podcast The Drop: A Snowfall Saga After Show and the The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Soundtrack. In his roles behind the camera, JasonMartin works on the sonic landscape and visual identity of The Drop, using his roots in West Coast hip-hop culture to help shape the series’ sound and look to make sure it remains grounded and authentic. His work on The Drop marks a direct extension and seamless transition of his musical background into scripted television.

A Compton native and Grammy-nominated talent, JasonMartin has established himself as one of the West Coast’s most versatile creators, building a career that spans songwriting, production and creative direction for artists like Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Rapsody, Lefty Gunplay and more. His work on The Drop follows previous screen credits, including writing, producing, and starring in the independent film A Compton Story, acting in Real Husbands of Hollywood and writing the theme song for the animated series Lil Kev.

Looking ahead, Martin is set to appear in the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic Snoop releasing August 6, 2027. Additionally, he’ll be acting and creative consultant on Kevin Hart’s upcoming project Chocolate Droppa.
