Today, Jesse Jo Stark enters an exciting new chapter as she announces her multi-faceted role in Channel 4’s original scripted limited drama series titled Fracture.
Directed by the talented duo of Bradley & Pablo, Stark plays Mya, a young musician trying to find her voice and place in the world. Set in the backdrop of Le Rêve motel – a “dump” on the outskirts of LA – youthful dreams are made and broken in this coming-of-age drama with music as its beating heart. Starring alongside Stark in the series are Charles Melton (Riverdale), Tommy Dorfman (13 Reasons Why), and Ajani Russell (BETTY) who round out a world where themes of identity, the “found family”, and the power of creativity in expressing who we are run throughout. Overseeing this all is Oliver Rousteing, the Creative Director for Balmain, as the characters and story will double as the brand’s AW21 fashion campaign, the first of its kind as well as a new milestone for Jesse Jo.
Jesse Jo created original music for the series, penning a new song called “A Pretty Place To Fall Apart.” Written from the perspective of her character, Mya, the track is about reflection and accountability and will be released Thursday, August 26th.
Says Jesse Jo about the single, “loneliness can be beautiful. you find out a lot of weird things about yerself when yer left with only you. i wanted this tune to feel like that. with hopes of finding out and leaning into who you are and where you are in yer life. who yer meant to be. . love is sick.. and this is about all of it x”.
A Pretty Place To Fall Apart,” along with a cover of The Cardigans classic “My Favourite Game” and two other original songs comprise Stark’s upcoming 4-track Fracture soundtrack EP, aptly titled A Pretty Place To Fall Apart, to be released September 2nd pegged to the series debut.
