KAROL G THE NEXT LATIN QUEEN PRESENTS “SEJODIOTO”

GRACES BILLBOARD MAGAZINE’S COVER DURING BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC WEEK

Karol G’s music has always been characterized by messages of empowerment and equality, helping its lyrics and rhythm transcend cultural barriers and reach every corner of the world. Today the multi-award winning singer released her latest single, SEJODIOTO,” adding another ode to the power of women to her repertoire, something that is a big part of personal and professional identity. The single is now available on all digital streaming platforms.

SEJODIOTO” is a song produced by the renowned Ovy On The Drums, that mixes fresh sounds with the traditional beats of reggaeton and hip-hop that characterize it. The music video was filmed in the city of Los Angeles and directed by Collin Tilley, who directed the videos for Bichota” and Location.” This time he took Karol G and her friends on a tour of the city and the desert. The video also pans sensual imagery of the singer dancing on her motorcycle and later with a group of dancers. The trip culminates at a strip club, where through the lens, Tilley manages to illustrate the strength and freedom each one of the women possesses without a partner at their side.

The power embodied in the video for SEJODIOTO is the same power that Billboard magazine sees in Karol G and is why it recognizes her as “The Next Latina Queen” on its most recent cover. The profile that comes with the cover details the amount of work she has put in to achieve success in a genre that is dominated by men. In addition to the new release and cover, today Karol G led The Superstar Q&A session, moderated by Leila Cobo, VP of Billboard Latin and organized by Billboard for Latin Music Week. As if that weren’t enough, Karol will also be presenting some of her biggest hits at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards, where she is a finalist for eight categories, this Thursday, September 23.
