OM Records, Chris Smith, Entertainment News, New Music, Singer, Songwriter, Shiny Objects, Disco Funk

In the latest offering from OM Records – 30 Years, the label’s 30th anniversary compilation album, founder Chris Smith takes the spotlight as his dance music project Shiny Objects. In the innovative single “Want Your Love”, disco funk meets a dirty dance floor groove that hits the spot! With undeniable energy, this track will undoubtedly get audiences on their feet.

“Thirty years later and it still feels surreal. Endless gratitude for the artists, team, and community who shaped this journey. Underground music continues to inspire everything we do,” says Chris Smith (aka Shiny Objects).

Previous singles from OM Records – 30 Years include “Deja Vu” from 40 Thieves, “Summer Haze” from Samantha James and Late Night Alumni (along with the B-side “Closer”), “Stay On My Mind” from Mark Farina, Homero Espinosa and Dani Siciliano, “Do It Right” from Groove Armada, “The Sunshine” from Colette, Richard Earnshaw and Kenny Summit, “Wind Trades” from J Boogie’s Dubtronic Science and Carlos Araiza, and most recently “Freedom” from Kaskade and EZI.

In addition to a string of music releases from its esteemed roster, San Francisco dance music label Om Records continues its 30 year anniversary celebration with the announcement of SF Free Concerts Presents – Om Records 30 Years, a day party set for May 9 at Embarcadero Plaza.  The show is produced by Another Planet Entertainment (APE) as part of their San Francisco Free Concerts series in conjunction with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department. After, Om will move the party to The Great Northern for a nighttime event.  Talent for both parties will be announced soon.  In the meantime, fans can RSVP for the free party at Embarcadero Plaza here with tickets for The Great Northern nighttime event to go up for sale at https://omrecords-30years-may2026.eventbrite.com.

Before labels like Dirtybird, Experts Only and Monstercat there was Om. Legends in the game and survivors of the past thirty years, Om — with over 800 releases under its belt – has withstood 9/11, the Dot Com bubble and burst, Napster, the birth and impending death of downloads, the recession, a global pandemic and political trials & tribulations, all the while still* releasing great music.  The Om Records – 30 Years compilation will highlight some of the best the label has to offer, as one of America’s first and longest-running dance music brands.
