LOS ESQUIVEL CONTINUE TO LEAD EXPERIMENTATION IN MÚSICA MEXICANA WITH THE RELEASE OF “SOBRA Y FALTA” ALONGSIDE MAISAK

Los Esquivel, recently recognized by Billboard as “Artists to Watch” in 2025, continue to push the boundaries of Mexican music with the release of “Sobra y Falta”. In collaboration with rising Colombian star Maisak, this track blends merengue with the essence of regional Mexican music, showcasing the growing trend of genre-blending experimentation in Latin music.

A vibrant anthem of longing and nostalgia, “Sobra y Falta” tells the story of a love that persists despite time and distance. With an infectious beat and heartfelt lyrics, the track speaks to those who find solace in celebration while yearning for someone they’ve lost. The music video, directed by Nuno Gomez and Samuel Mieres, visually captures this emotion through a mosaic of memories. When the heart is broken and relief is sought in drunkenness, a narrative of recollections begins to unfold—a collection of moments and sensations that evoke the presence of a loved one, fueled by the hope of reliving what once was.

Los Esquivel have made a lasting impact on the Colombian music scene. Their platinum-certified hit “Exceso” with Blessd became a defining moment for electro-corrido in the country. Additionally, their standout performance at Premios Mi Gente last year, where they performed “Chismofilia” alongside Luis Alfonso, Regional Colombian Breakthrough Star, cemented their presence in the market.

Their innovative approach has earned them worldwide recognition and industry acclaim. Billboard recently spotlighted the rise of a new wave of experimental corridos, with Los Esquivel playing a pivotal role in this transformation. Their seamless fusion of traditional and modern sounds has also led to collaborations with top artists, including Luis R Conriquez, Marca Registrada, Deorro, Prince Royce, and Kevin AMF.

Beyond the release of “Sobra y Falta”, Los Esquivel continue their success with “Cachondos Session #1”, a recent collaboration alongside Kevin AMF, Victor Mendivil, Dani Flow, and Tiagz, that currently debuts on Spotify Mexico’s Top 50 chart.
