MORAT BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO LOS BUKIS’ TIMELESS HIT “TU CÁRCEL”

Morat unveils a stunning reinterpretation of Los Bukis’ 1986 classic “Tu Cárcel”, honoring its timeless storytelling while infusing it with their own signature sound. “Tu Cárcel” is available now on all digital platforms.

Morat’s rendition preserves the dreamy, lighthearted essence of the original but gently transforms it, layering distorted guitars and hard-hitting drums over the familiar melody to give it a modern edge. Their harmonies weave together seamlessly, adding texture and depth without overshadowing the song’s melodic core. While the mood shifts subtly from the bright optimism of the original to something more dynamic and resonant, the emotional heart of Los Bukis’ songwriting remains intact. It’s a careful, affectionate homage: a reimagining that respects the past while allowing Morat’s musical identity to shine.

The release of “Tu Cárcel” follows a standout night at the 2026 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, taking home the Pop Album of the Year award for their acclaimed latest studio album Ya Es Mañana. That same evening, they shared a memorable moment presenting Colombian icon Juanes with the Premio Lo Nuestro Lifetime Achievement Award, bridging generations of Latin music and underscoring their respect for the artists who shaped the genre.

After closing out a career-defining 2025 with their first-ever Latin Grammy win for Best Pop/Rock Album (Ya Es Mañana), Morat carries that momentum into a major live chapter. They will make their highly anticipated Coachella debut on Sunday, April 12 and 19, followed by a performance at Tecate Pa’l Norte in Monterrey on March 27. They are also set to perform at Teatro del Pueblo on April 24 in Puebla, Mexico. At the same time, Morat has begun revealing dates for their 2026-2027 world tour, with confirmed shows across Colombia and Spain, while Argentina is already completely sold out and Chile close behind.

With new music in development and a growing international audience, Morat steps confidently into this next era, reaffirming their place as one of Latin pop’s most dynamic and enduring acts.
