NAV DROPS NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “POP MY SHIT” FEATURING FROST
Chart-topping rapper, producer, and XO artist NAV has officially released “POP MY SHIT” featuring Frost, alongside its accompanying music video. Produced by Money Musik and TOOM, the single marks Frost’s first official feature as an artist on a NAV track and the first time he raps alongside NAV. A Jamaican-Canadian rapper, songwriter, and producer, Frost’s history with NAV stretches back to the very beginning of NAV’s career. The two are longtime best friends who first made music together with Frost as the artist and NAV producing his beats, recording, and engineering their sessions. Frost has remained a close creative collaborator throughout NAV’s career, earning writing credits on tracks including “Trimski”, “Good For It”, “KEEP GOING”, and more.
Powered by trunk-rattling 808s and bouncy hi-hats, “POP MY SHIT” finds NAV and Frost trading bars and effortlessly playing off one another’s verses. Alternating lines as they deliver a barrage of hard-hitting one-liners, the two make it clear they have little time for anything that doesn’t measure up to the high-caliber lifestyle they’ve built.
Directed by Orazio, the “POP MY SHIT” music video brings that lifestyle to the streets of Toronto and features an appearance from fellow Toronto artist AR Paisley. Opening with NAV and his entourage in the studio surrounded by models and masked dancers, the visual follows NAV and Frost across the city as they party with masked female companions, drift through the streets in massive luxury trucks, and make a stop at a gun range. Extravagant nighttime shots of the two rendezvousing across Toronto round out the visual, capturing the track’s brash energy and larger-than-life attitude.
The release arrives ahead of a busy stretch on the road for NAV, who will join Young Thug as a special guest across the North American leg of The New Generation Tour, kicking off September 1 and running through October 4. Before hitting the road, NAV will perform at Summer Rap Music Festival at Red River Exhibition Park in Winnipeg on August 29. He will also return home to Toronto on September 12 to headline 6ix Mela Festival at Sobeys Stadium.
