NIONTAY RELEASES NEW ALBUM FADA
Innovative Brooklyn-via-Florida rapper Niontay has released his highly-anticipated album Fada<3of$ — out now via 10K Global, the independent Brooklyn-based label and artist collective. Praised by Rolling Stone as a “convergence of Niontay’s boundless sonic curiosities,” it’s an ambitious statement project featuring a master deep in his boundary-pushing bag. He transforms familiar and experimental sounds alike with rare dexterity, inventing previously unheard combinations of flows and beats. Taking on multiple alter egos throughout his work, Niontay honors the storytelling traditions of rap pioneers like MF DOOM and Dr. Octagon while chasing his own ambitions.
“I’m going to make sure my people good,” he shares. “My great great great grandchildren going to know about my name, they going to know about what their ancestor did and why they able to live how they live. [I will be] somebody who opened doors not just for people around my way, but anybody I love.”
The collection of tracks was first conceived by Niontay two years ago and came together after a creative breakthrough during a summer 2024 trip to London. He maintained a close-knit creative circle throughout the process, producing it himself with key contributions from TonySeltzer, djblackpower, and SURFGANG, plus select guest features from Mavi, El Cousteau, Sideshow, and Jadasea. He announced the project last month with the lead single “mumbleman” followed by “MR.HAVEMYWAY“, earning praise from Pitchfork and FADER. Niontay is currently on tour supporting the U.S. leg of MIKE‘s Artists Of The Century Tour through April 26 in Atlanta.
Niontay has earned a bulletproof rep among heads in the know as a generational prospect and innovative wizard of regional rap sounds. Known for his collaborations with MIKE and Earl Sweatshirt, he displays a penchant for unusual flows and an uncanny ability to synchronize with the disparate styles found across the contemporary hip hop landscape. Fada<3of$ serves as the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2023 debut project Dontay’s Inferno and follow up EP Demon Muppy With a growing discography and a unique sound that reinvents regional influences into something entirely his own, Niontay is positioning himself as one of the most exciting voices in underground rap.
