PLATINUM-CERTIFIED PRODUCER, PLUGG PIONEER, & RISING RAPPER MEXIKODRO ANNOUNCES SIGNING TO REPUBLIC RECORDS
Primed to make a major impact in 2025, Platinum-certified Atlanta-based producer, “plugg” pioneer, rapper, and artist MexikoDro has officially inked a deal with Republic Records. Right now, he’s prepping his first release under this freshly minted partnership set to drop very soon.
To share his excitement, MexikoDro said, “It’s goin down.” John T. Rose, Attorney at Fox Rothschild, added, “MexikoDro is not your average artist. He is here to change the game and we look forward to making history with our partners at Republic.”
MexikoDro has already surged throughout the culture by cooking up tracks for everyone from Drake to Playboi Carti and Kodak Black. Along the way, he quietly unveiled his solo music, picking up the mic and introducing another side of his artistry. This March, he reached critical mass when he unleashed the rapidly rising banger “No Date.” It has already gathered north of 4 million Spotify streams and counting and climbed into the Top 10 on the US Shazam Chart. Not to mention, Lil Yachty shared a video of himself rapping to the song. Plus, he has claimed real estate on coveted playlists such as Spotify’s “Most Necessary,” “No Cap,” “Out The Mud,” and “Fresh Finds: Hip Hop,” to name a few.
It’s just the beginning though. He’s got a signature raspy flow that proves just as unforgettable as his inventive production.
Calling Southwest Atlanta home, MexikoDro paved his own lane as a sought-after producer. Recognized for the “plugg” producer tag, he emerged as a bona fide pioneer of the groundbreaking “plugg” sound, setting the tempo for the genre in the process. Beyond helming songs for Playboi Carti, Drake, and Kodak Black, he notably produced Nebu Kiniza’s Platinum-certified “Gassed Up.” Along the way, he simultaneously sharpened his skills as a rapper. He buzzed with 2024’s De Mayo highlighted by “Liquor,” which clocked 1 million-plus Spotify streams. In the wake of the fan favorite QUATRO EP, he launched “No Date” into the stratosphere in 2025, tallying millions of streams. Catching the attention of Republic Records, he signed to the label and will be unleashing more music soon.
