The wait is finally over! Following a series of buzzing genre-bending singles and widespread praise from fans and tastemakers alike, critically acclaimed outlier, singer, songwriter, and producer Q proudly uncovers his anxiously awaited debut album Soul, PRESENT via Columbia Records. This otherworldly body of work traces a sonic roadmap through R&B, soul, eighties funk, alternative, pop, and rock with Q in the driver’s seat. It marks his first official project since 2020’s EP The Shave Experiment, which garnered acclaim from The New York Times, Complex, HYPEBEAST, Noisey, and more.
He paved the way for the release of Soul,PRESENT with the latest single “UNDERSTAND (feat. Baby Rose)”. Beyond piling up half-a-million streams and counting, it incited unanimous applause. Billboard touted it among “R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week” and attested, “Q and Baby Rose are not from this decade. The singers are taking R&B and soul rhythms to a new level by modernizing old-school sounds.” In advance of the album, he notably tallied tens of millions of streams across “NOT ALONE,” “LUV (I KNOW I WANT THIS FOR REAL)’, “STEREO DRIVER,” and “TODAY” in addition to gaining support from his peers Omar Apollo, 6LACK, James Blake & more.
