Rising Vallejo rapper Benny Shares “Bang It” + Announces ‘Different’ project
Just last year Bay Area rapper Benny was living and trapping out of his car after getting kicked out of his mom’s house, and now the 20 year old is poised to become the next breakout star from the hits hotbed of Vallejo. He’s announcing his third project Different, due 11/30 via EMPIRE, and to kick things off he’s sharing the uptempo hyphy-funk lead single “Bang It,” where he shows off lilting melodies and rapid-fire bars alongside a smooth and funky baseline.

In a mini-doc with Thizzler, he speaks on the things he’s gone through growing up, like facing eviction and unreliable utilities in his home and eventually getting kicked out by his mom, Benny says, “Vallejo feel like home. It makes us built for anywhere else. Like one thing about me, I don’t give a f**k about dying.” Benny has faced his fair share of adversity and he decided to channel this energy into the studio. He’s crafted a project that feels distinctly Bay on songs like “Breathe,” while carving out a lane of his own on tracks like “Myself,” and “Talk To Me.”
