Sexyy Red Stages a Space Battle of the Sexes in “U Know What To Do” Video
As She Wraps Her Star-Studded Successful “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour,” the St. Louis Star Reaches Astronaut Status in the Space Age Video for Her Latest Single
Sexyy Red‘s career blasted off with some of the decade’s hottest singles, but she still has astronomical aspirations. The St. Louis rapper ascends past the stratosphere in her new video for “U Know What To Do.“ Released as part of a double-single with “Clouted Up,” the Mac Fly-produced “U Know What To Do” finds Sexyy working a sing-song flow over sci-fi synths. Harkening back to an era when seemingly every R&B and rap song had a space age video, Sexyy relishes in her astronaut status, touting her new line of Sexyy Gloss lip gloss and her forthcoming partnership with Ed Hardy as she launches a battle of the sexes featuring lasers and suggestive starships.
The video for “U Know What To Do” arrives as the rising rap icon wraps up her “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour.” Featuring multiple sold out dates, the tour was the biggest event in hip-hop over the summer, welcoming A-List special guests, including Kodak Black for multiple dates, Gucci Mane, Lil Durk, Boosie Badazz, and YTB Fatt in her home town of St. Louis, and Ice Spice and Cash Cobain in New York City. The “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour” also featured supporting performances from BossMan Dlow, HUNXHO, Loe Shimmy, and Blakeiana. Topping the bill each night, Sexyy performed a complement of hits and fan-favorites from her new album In Sexyy We Trust and her 2023 breakout album Hood Hottest Princess.
Sexyy is tearing up 2024 with her Summer ’24 album In Sexyy We Trust, which features hit singles “Get It Sexyy,” one of the year’s biggest rap hits, peaking at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and recently earning a GOLD certification from the RIAA, and “U My Everything” ft. Drake. Executive-produced by Tay Keith and Drumatized, In Sexyy We Trust, the follow-up to 2023’s breakout Hood Hottest Princess, peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200, and has spent 11 weeks on the chart. Last month, Sexyy Red received three nominations at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards, for “Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist,” “Album of the Year” (In Sexyy We Trust), and “Song of the Year” (“Get It Sexyy”).
After selling out her nationwide tour in 2023, reaching her highest Hot 100 peaks yet in 2024, earning multiple major award nominations over the summer, and creating her own Lip Gloss line available soon, Sexyy proves there’s no one better positioned for the November ballot than her.
