SHAKIRA RETURNS TO BARRANQUILLA FOR EPIC SOLD OUT HOMECOMING SHOW ON LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR
GRAMMY®, and Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Shakira triumphantly returned to her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia for the first of 2 shows, as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Both shows, which sold out, marked her first performance in the city in 19 years. She will return to the stage in Barranquilla tonight.
The audience included her mother, sons and 4,000 children from her Fundación Pies Descalzos, which she founded in Colombia in 1997. The evening also featured several guest performances including Tato Marenco’s percussion group for a cover of Joe Arrollo’s song “Te Olividé,” the Reina del Carnaval and Chelito De Castro as a guest pianist for “Chantaje.”
She greeted the stadium with a heartfelt speech, thanking her friends and family in the audience that saw her grow up, and the city that has welcomed her with such love, before igniting the crowd in the folkloric chant of her hometown.

This Barranquilla show is more than just another tour date—it’s a homecoming for Shakira, a deeply personal return to the city and culture that shaped her as an artist and a global Latina icon. It is a witness to Shakira’s origins, to her roots, her community, and the rich Latino traditions that influenced her distinctive sound and style. This performance celebrates her musical journey but also underscores her enduring bond with the place where it all began, emphasizing the importance of her Colombian and Latino heritage to her identity and her success.
Last night Shakira was also the top winner at Premio Lo Nuestro with six awards including album of the year for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran and pop female artist of the year.
Since launching the tour in Rio de Janeiro on February 11, Shakira has been dazzling audiences with a setlist that features her biggest hits alongside new anthems from her GRAMMY® Award-winning album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, including “Session 53,” “TQG,” and “Te Felicito.” The Las Mujeres Ya No LloranWorld Tour has been met with rave reviews, with fans and critics alike praising the high-energy spectacle, emotional depth, and breathtaking production of her performance.
The Latin American stadium tour has sold out, shattering all time attendance records, becoming the first artist ever to perform seven consecutive nights at the renowned Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Due to incredible demand new dates have been added in the Dominican Republic on April 2nd, and Peru on November 15th and 16th.
The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour will come to North America on May 13in Charlotte, NC, with stops in Montreal, Toronto, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and more before concluding on June 30 in San Francisco, CA.
