Jorja Smith Revealed As Second Vevo UK Lift Act Of 2018

Launching with an exclusive performance of ‘Where Did I Go?’ on the Vevo YouTube channel on Friday 10 August, Jorja’s LIFT series will see the Mercury Prize nominee release an assortment of live performances and personal behind-the-scenes videos.

Over the coming weeks, Vevo will continue to roll out videos including further exclusive live performances of tracks from Jorja’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Lost & Found’, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from Jorja’s sell-out show at Somerset House.

Bursting onto the scene in 2016 with her critically acclaimed debut single ‘Blue Lights’, Jorja was subsequently tipped for success by a plethora of publications including The Times, The Fader, i-D Magazine, The Guardian, and many more.

In 2017, Jorja went on to support mega-star Bruno Mars on the US-leg of his world tour, collaborated with global lyricist Drake (‘More Life’) and also co-wrote ‘I Am’ – her solo single on the #1 Black Panther soundtrack – with the man himself, Kendrick Lamar.

Kicking-off 2018 as BRITs Critics’ Choice winner, she followed with her sensational single ‘Let Me Down’; a stunning, frank, and honest track which featured an emotion-filled rap from British MC Stormzy. Shortly after, Jorja embarked on her third sold-out 8-date UK tour which concluded with two Shepherds Bush Empire dates, all reviewed to critical acclaim.

Jorja said: “Thank you so much to Vevo for choosing me as part of their LIFT series for 2018! It has been amazing working with the team on the pieces we’ve created together – from footage behind the scenes at my Somerset House show, to in the studio – and loads more that I can’t wait for you to see!”

Launched back in 2011, Vevo’s artist development programme LIFT throws the spotlight on the freshest new talent in Britain. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, Years & Years and Rag‘N’Bone Man who all gave their fans a sneak peek into their early careers via a series of Vevo videos.
